Claire Walmsley has launched a Kickstarter campaign to self publish her first children’s picture book – ‘The Town That Threw Everything Away’. She has until the 24th September to raise £1250 needed and needs your help!

The fun and engaging story, aimed at children aged 4-8, was written to encourage children and adults to talk about sustainability – an important message in current times.

Claire and her family started their eco journey a few years ago and know that it’s not about being perfect but about starting. That’s the take away message from the story – small steps are the way forward.

Despite the book not yet being in print, Claire has been performing the story locally in libraries, school and in local refill shops using props and puppets. People have praised her inventive and creative storytelling and children particularly like the characters known as the Dewds.

Claire has worked tirelessly to get the project off the ground but it hasn’t always been easy. She suffers with Crohn’s disease – a chronic condition that has hospitalised her twice this year alone.

You can help by pledging your support on the Kickstarter website http://kck.st/3QDkc9b . A £10 pledge will get you a signed copy of the book when it is released in March 2023. Further pledges unlock extra rewards like audio recordings and activity packs.
